Chet Baker (v) on d.
This is a private recording of a live performance. On J For Jazz 805 (an LP with very low production values), "Dolphin Dance" is called "Chetmania" and "Donna Lee" is called "Woodspile." Bob Mover is not credited anywhere on this LP and does not appear on the other tracks which feature Phil Woods. All the Baker tracks (incomplete) appear on side B of the LP. Track B-1 begins with the Woods quartet playing All the Things You Are which merges into the Baker quintet playing Dolphin Dance followed by For Miles and Miles (which track is never mentioned anywhere on the LP).The latter overlaps into B-2 and then becomes Donna Lee. The information on this session comes from the Lerfeldt/Sjogren Chet Baker discography which incorrectly lists track b as "Resonant Emotions" (thanks to Peter Mansell).

These tracks come from radio and TV broadcasts (VARA TV). The information on this session comes from the Lerfeldt/Sjogren Chet Baker discography and from Jeroen DeValk and Peter Mansell. Track g is incorrectly listed as "Airegin" in the Sjogren discography. Baker announces Pelzer as playing soprano sax and flute but track d has two alto saxophone solos and aural evidence suggests the one preceding Baker's solo is Pelzer and the one following it, Mover.
The timings show do not include announcements.

This music is in the disco genre characteristic of the 1970s. Nonetheless, there are some fine solos by some of the participants. The actual recording date/dates is/are not known. The personnel are probably collective over several recording dates and overdubbing may have been employed. The trumpet/flugel horn soloist throughout is Tom Harrell. Bob Mover solos on track b (soprano sax) and track c (alto sax). Vanguard VSD 79421 contains a sixth title, Stevie Wonder's "I Wish" performed by another ensemble of which Bob Mover is not a part.
